Rajasthan, the land of kings, is India’s largest state by area, located in the northwestern part of the country. The majority of the area is covered by Thar Desert (The Great Indian Desert) making it the only state in India with a hot desert. Rajasthan is famous for its rich heritage since it has had human settlements in and around the area for thousands of years. The ruins of the Indus Valley Civilization at Kalibanga are proof of it. Stone Age tools dating from 5000 to 200000 years of age were found in parts of Bundi and Bhilwara. Apart from that, Rajasthan is the land of kings as many kings have ruled over different provinces for thousands of years.
